Melton Meander 6hr Metrogaine and 5hr Cyclogaine
The Metrogaine is for Walkers and runners. The Cyclogaine is for Cyclist. Same map for both courses. Enter either the Metrogaine or the Cyclogaine not both.
The Metro Cyc;logaine is at Melton west of Melbourne. We all know where it is and know it’s a growth corridor. We are using an outer Melbourne Suburb and the course will stretch beyond the suburban streets. Melton will suit people looking for easy (no hills) walking, running or riding around suburban streets and parks. However don’t be fooled into thinking there are no hills to be found. If your Melway is a few years old you’ll discover just how much a growth corridor expands in a few years. A bonus is the number of off road sealed paths along the many creek land reserves.
Map
Based on Melway Edition 38 (2011) Single large sheet Digital colour map.
Course The course will be pre-marked Checkpoints printed on a colour map with separate question and multiple choice answers sheets to confirm your visit to each checkpoint. There are negative points for more than 3 incorrect answers.

Entry Fees are: Adults $23, Junior (under 18) $15 if entered before 11:59pm 22-Feb-2012, $10 extra per adult if entering after this date.

Event Format
6hr Metrogaine begins at 10am and finishes at 4pm. Competitors in a Metrogaine must travel by foot 5hr Cyclogaine begins at 10:30am and finishes at 3:30pm. Competitors in a Cyclogaine travel by bicycle. Mountain bikes and Hybrids are recommended as gravel paths and roads will be included in the course area. There is no reason you cannot use a road bike if you prefer or that is all you have.
Visits to checkpoints are verified by you answering a question correctly. We give you 4 answer to choose from on the checkpoint description sheet. Expect about 60 Check points spread over the equivalent of 4 pages of a Melway. The final map and number of Checkpoints will not be disclosed until Registration opens at 8am on event day.
At the finish is a Hash House dinner waiting for you. All food is included in your entry price. The Hash House meal is BBQ sausages, hamburgers and vegie burgers. In winter we normally have soups and stews however for summer our catering manager may choose salads to suit a warm day. We will have a selection of deserts available as well as tea coffee, Milo and cordials. All you need to bring is your plate, cup, cutlery and folding chair. Sit back and relax while we calculate the result and do presentations.
